Old family picture from back in 1976. This is my brother standing next to my 69 Corvette. This is 1 of only 4 pictures I have of my old Corvette and my brother is just in the way here. So this is how I got rid of him in 4 steps. |
Original Picture Picture was taken with an old "instant" Polaroid. This is the best picture I have of the best car I ever had. My brother just happens to screwing up this shot so I need to get rid of him. But right away I see two hard spots. The tree and the windows. Those are places where I can't simply copy and paste or use the Stamp Tool. They'll need to be created sort of speaking. |

Step one remove the easy stuff. I decided to tackle the easy stuff first. The feet and legs go with ease covering them with cut and paste and the Stamp Tool.

Step 2 continue with removing easy stuff. Adding a tree is going to be easier than the car windows. The house behind the tree needed C&P taking brick and bushes from the right side of the house. Then extended the white gutter down by copying pieces from above. The tree was added in little bits copied from othe limbs and even from the other tree in the picture. I think it came out better than I even dreamed it would. Looks real to me!

Tackle one small section at a time. Ok time to do the part I know is going to be hard. I had to create a door/window frame where the windshield meets the side window. Copied some chrome and red from down at the bottom of the door. Tried to get it pasted in on a good angle. The windows are just C&P'd little parts from what was there and placed next to each other. Blurred and some noise added. I see the roof above the windshield needs some work still. I also see him leaving his shadow on the front fender. |

Section by section till your done. I took existing red that was showing from the door and C&P'd it extending all the way forward covering what was left of my borther. Had to create a side window sil and front door crack just behind the "gills". Just used the line tool and softened it up with lowering the opacity. Blurred and Smudged the door panel little at a time till it looked good enough for me at least. The Shadow is still there but that will need to wait for another sleepless night.
TOTAL TIME for getting rid of a brother = 3 hours Stay tuned for steps on getting rid of a Wife! |
